Orthobiologic Treatment can offer a viable alternative to surgery for individuals suffering from joint pain, muscle, tendon and back pain.
Orthobiologic Treatment is part of a broader, emerging and exciting area of Medicine called Regenerative Medicine. Growth Cells are present in the bone marrow which can be harvested. As part of a cell-based treatment, regenerative cells can be collected from bone marrow and blood with minimal discomfort. These cells can then be minimally processed in a state-of-the-art laboratory utilizing the latest technology. Finally, can be injected where they are needed – such as an inflamed hip or knee joint. Over time, the cells can potentially repair and regenerate the damaged tissues, resulting in relief of pain and improvement in mobility and function.
We may also use your concentrated platelet blood product, rich in growth factors (Platelet Rich Plasma) and inject the PSP into the painful body joint, tendon or muscle, usually using ultrasound guidance for better accuracy.
Your Platelet Rich Plasma comes from a simple blood draw, which we spin to separate and extract the platelet rich component.
Degeneration often occurs in areas of the body where there is a low blood supply and low oxygen levels. These areas are difficult for regenerative cells to reach and difficult for cell signaling to take place, resulting in inadequate healing and regeneration.
Orthobiologic treatments may provide the right cells, growth factors and cellular environment to promote healing and regrowth in a body area where blood flow and stem cells could otherwise not reach, especially joints, ligaments, tendons and even discs.
Re-introducing your own regenerative cells (contained in Bone Marrow Aspirate) directly into damaged joints under ultrasound or X-ray guidance can potentially repair and regenerate damaged tissues, resulting in relief of pain and improvement in mobility and function.
Bone Marrow Aspirate which contain regenerative cells from your own body and may have the ability to reduce inflammation and repair or help your body’s natural repair process. Your Bone Marrow Aspirate may also help stimulate new blood flow in the joints and reduce pain and inflammation to provide an opportunity for lasting healing and relief in a process called Immunomodulation.
Accelerate the healing of damaged tissues
Stimulate tissue regeneration
Prevent continued premature cell or tissue loss
Create new blood vessels
Halt abnormal, destructive immune or inflammatory responses
Reverse gradual deterioration
We use your own cells to help repair tissue at the site of cellular damage. Our process addresses your pain in a natural way, without relying on narcotic pain medications or invasive surgery and without artificial implants or replacements.
Many patients find cellular therapies a great alternative to surgery.
Cellular therapy has a minimal recovery time unlike surgery where recovery can be a long drawn out process.
Don’t like the way general anesthesia makes you feel? Cellular therapy does not require general anesthesia.
Avoid the risk of cell rejection by using cells and biologics from your own body (ie, we don’t use cord tissue or placental tissue.)
There are many research studies show that cellular therapy and platelet rich plasma injections may provide excellent relief from joint and musculoskeletal pain and ongoing inflammation.
